What is Music Together®?

• A fun-filled family music and movement program for parents and children from birth through preschool in the Upper Valley.
• This program is a great way to socialize your child and for you to engage with other caregivers and moms at a similar life stage.

Did you know that all children are musical? The Music Together® curriculum is based on research that demonstrates that given a friendly, stimulating musical environment, all children will develop basic musical competence. Children in Music Together® classes participate at their own levels and when they are ready: there is no performance pressure whatsoever. Children are not required to sit still; rather, they are encouraged to respond spontaneously to the musical environment. We use singing, movement, rhythmic chants, instruments, hand signals and lots of other ways to express ourselves musically.

Have you ever wondered what you can do to nurture your child's musical growth regardless of your own musical ability? Parent/caregiver participation is an essential and delightful component of this program. Before the days of CDs and iPods, families made music together spontaneously at the dinner table, on a family trip, at work or wherever they were. Music Together encourages you to bring music into your family's daily life and gives you lots of fun ideas on how to do so. As part of the program, you will receive a beautiful music book and CD that have many of the songs we will sing and move to during the session. You will also receive a booklet filled with information about your child's musical development.
